Description
The University of the Cumberlands' Reading and Writing Specialist Certification program was created for individual who have already received their master's degree in the education, and are looking at receiving their Rank 1 certification at the "sixth-year," specialist, or doctoral level.
The focus of this fully online reading and writing certification program includes:
- reading & writing foundations
- diagnosis of reading & writing problems
- diagnostic procedures in teaching reading & writing practicum
- strategies for reading & writing program and practicum
All applicants in this program must have graduated from an institution of higher learning with a minimum 2.5 GPA and have a master's degree in education. Must have successfully completed the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program or have two years of successful teaching experience outside the state of Kentucky, and have three years of fulltime teaching experience.
