SCHOOL PROFILE |  DEGREES OFFERED

Description

Liberty University's Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is offered in two convenient formats: Online and Blended (which combines online learning with campus residency options). In both formats, the MAT is specifically geared toward individuals with no prior teaching experience who are interested in gaining initial teaching licensure in elementary education, secondary education, or special education. Along with core courses in this program, you will choose one of the three specializations for licensure, and will complete your student teaching requirement in the area in which you are seeking licensure.

There is a 3 credit hour internship requirement, and the online program requires 3 on-campus intensive residency components. This program is approved through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and is a state-approved program for initial licensure (reciprocity with other states) or endorsements.

The MA in Teaching from Liberty University is a 36 credit hour program. Tuition is $395 per credit hour, there is a $150 technology fee per semester, a $50 application fee, and a one time $100 MA Counseling Assessment fee.

Liberty University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees.
