Eastern Kentucky University's Certificate in Fire & Emergency Services provides students with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of fire safety/protection and to enhance your overall skills in this field. The Fire & Safety faculty members are recognized nationally and internationally for their teaching, research, and dedication to the fire and safety fields, and are active in numerous professional fire organizations such as the National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the International Society of Fire Service Instructors.

Students in this program will learn from some of the very best in this field. The Fire & Emergency Services Certificate was designed to provide students with strategic planning and leadership skills necessary to develop tactical plans for fire and emergency services within an organization. This program will prepare graduates to manage and direct fire departments, fire prevention services, search and rescue services, fire inspection and investigation offices, etc.

The certificate can be completed independently of the degree program however, should you decide you would like to continue with the program after completing the certificate; the credits you earn can be transferred over and applied to the Master's degree program. Students must currently hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
