Description
Hodges University's Online Associate of Science in Health Information Technology program prepares its students to understand and support the information needs of the healthcare industry.As one of the fastest growing occupations in this equally fast growing industry, an online degree in Health Information Technology can play a critical role in an individual's ability to successfully maintain, collect and analyze the data that doctors, nurses and other healthcare individuals provides. Students who graduate with an HIT degree become experts in managing patient health information and medical records, administering computer information systems, and coding the diagnoses and procedures for healthcare services provided to patients.
There are a multitude of setting throughout the healthcare industry for individuals who have an online degree in Health Information Technology which include: hospitals, physician offices and clinics, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, government agencies and home care providers.
Graduates of our program will be eligible to take the national examination for Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT) from the American Health Information Management Association. 60 credit hours are required to complete this degree.
All Applicants of this program must have a High School diploma or GED
