Description
The online Associate of Applied Science - Paralegal degree from Rasmussen College has been designed to help those wanting a career in assisting attorneys in almost every aspect of their work. This includes investigating cases, drafting contracts, helping prepare for closings, hearings, and trials, and locating witnesses.
Individual who earn an Paralegal Associate degree will be prepared to provide a variety of services in the legal system. This includes working with the courts, law firms, and government agencies, under the supervision of an attorney. Once a student has completed the program and earned their online Associate degree they will prepared to:
- List and explain the steps involved in taking a case to trial by preparing pleadings and other litigation-related documents
- Analyze and draft contract provisions and contracts, which conform to legal precedents
- Demonstrate the ability to perform various forms of legal writing and prepare legal documents
- Exhibit computer proficiency and knowledge of computer software used in the legal profession and much more.
Individuals who are in this program will participate in a variety of courses including Legal Research and Writing, Torts, and Corporate law as well as, Real Estate Law, Family and Criminal Law.
