Grantham University - Outstanding! Self-paced

Grantham University is great! I'm a Active Duty Army Drill Sergeant. I work over 60hrs per week. I attended GU in 2008 and transferred to a regionally accredited four year university and all of the credits from GU were accepted. After completing classes off and on, I received my AA in Dec 2011. I transferred back to GU finish my previous AA degree in Jan 2012. GU accepted all of those credits and I received my transfer credit evaluation. I was shocked! I only had to take 10 credit hours (four courses) to receive another AA degree. GU courses are 8 weeks in length, but you can accelerate through the program at your own pace... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Stepping it up!!

I have been with Grantham for a few years now and it appears that the coursework, faculty, books and student representatives just improve more and more over time. I am aware that the school has applied for regional accreditation which is great. I'm tired of hearing that the school I selected to attend is worthless, or will not help me land the job I want in the future. This ridicule coming from other students attending online degree programs as well with schools that are regionally accredited. Education is what you make of it. The books are all the same, so if the coursework is challenging and you want to learn, then learn you... Read Full Review

Grantham University - BS Business

I really like my Personal Finance class and teacher. It really isn't that hard....but it will make you think about making changes to your family finances. I have a weekly quiz, assignment, and discussion to participate in over 8 weeks for 3 hours of credit. So far so good for me. Read Full Review

Grantham University - Don't tell me it's a scam

I just completed BA-520 Quantitative Analysis. For those critics who believe GU is a scam, I recommend enrolling in BA-520. I consider myself more than proficient with MS Excel, that is until I took BA-520. The course material was very challenging. BA-520 is a graduate level statistics course so by design, the course material should be challenging. The text book is found on Amazon.com for about $130. Having completed the course, I believe the knowledge gained will serve me well in my current profession. Again, I submit to those critics that if they REALLY want a challenging course at GU, enroll in BA-520! Read Full Review

Grantham University - Worthwhile Degree

I spent most of my college life at brick and mortar schools and accumulated a ton of credits. This format allows a working professional the opportunity to return to school and finish what they started. I am grateful for the opportunity. As far as the school goes I have nothing but good to say about them. Think it's easy, believe me it's not and you will fail just the same as in the brick and mortar schools if you can't pick it up. Grantham University - Grantham Is Great

I have nothing but good things to say about Grantham. They have fulfilled all of my needs. I am a MSgt In the US Air Force and am going to be retiring soon. I have told many of my co-workers about Grantham and they have also enrolled. I was able to complete my degree in Criminal Justice and before I retire I'm going to complete my Masters Degree in Information Management Technology. I have seen bad things about Grantham in some forums. But the bottom line is from what I have heard and will soon experience...it really dosent matter where your degrees are from as long as you got them... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Post-graduation summary

I am retired military and also work as a government civilian on a military installation. I completed my bachelor's degree as well as my Master's degree at Grantham. ALL of my transcripts have been entered as official documents into my civilian personnel record and are deemed accredited for purposes of career advancement. Read Full Review

Grantham University - Master's Degree

Overall I have to admit that Grantham is mostly concentrated on military attendees because they're guaranteed payment through the military tuition assistance programs. That however doesn't make them a scam, and I for one do appreciate the support for the military.

I've had a few courses where I was unable to meet some deadlines because of my service, and the teachers and staff have been more than willing to work with me and help so that I could complete the courses. I have friends attending other online programs through colleges such as Liberty University and University of Phoenix... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Current Student

I am a current student @ Grantham University and am very pleased with my admissions rep and student progress rep. I am able to take advantage of the REAP benefit and have told several others in my unit. I am able to pocket $ while earning a degree! Thank you Mr. Denk for all your help and look forward to graduation day! Thank you Grantham University! Read Full Review

Grantham University - Criminal Justice Homeland Security Degree 2009

Just received my BS in Criminal Justice Homeland Security with Honors (magna cum laude). I'm currently a GS-14 Federal Agent with DHS and a reserve AFOSI Special Agent with the USAF. Grantham is a complete "joke". The military paid for the training, so I continued. The professors had less practical experience then I but were able to critique my book-work for grammatical errors. If you continue your education with these "clowns", good luck if not find another school. Read Full Review

Grantham University - Honest Assesment

I graduated the Information Management program. It has helped me to become eligible to sit in for the clinical engineer exam. The military or DoD values nationally or regionally accredited programs as the same. In fact, no-one has questioned or looked down upon my education through Grantham so far. Lastly, the credits "DO" transfer but that's not to say you will not have to talk to someone other than a admission rep, if rejected... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Garbage

This place is trash and I like how the employees write the same reviews for the school in forums that rate the school to boost the schools low enrollment rate. Just google "grantham review" and look at all the same posts that rate the school high. The school changed over to the Angel Program that requires due dates and discussion boards making the school just like all the REGIONAL accredited schools but Grantham is a national DETC one. I heard the college applied for a regional one, good! so now you have a choice to choose far better online regional schools than this one... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Accreditation?

Accreditation? Regionally means colleges and university are part of that region's accreditation, there are six regions of accrediting bodies. Nationally means any college or university from any region can apply for nationally accreditation, which is one body. The Department of Education does not state one is better than the other. The difference is regionally accreditation is more expensive, don't like to accept other school's credits if they are nationally accredited... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Great price, great curriculum

Great curriculum packed with the tools of the trade: MATLAB, Visual Studio, Visio, and many more. Texts from my classes are indispensible, and I refer back to them often on the job. Tuition was reasonable, and since I used my GI Bill, I incurred ZERO out of pocket costs. Since graduating, I was promoted instantly, and now work as an EMC Engineer. Read Full Review

Grantham University - How to transfer to CCAF

For the SSgt who didn't have anything tranfer. You must have the school send the teachers names and info with your transcripts or CCAF won't award the credit since CCAF is regionally accredited and Grantham is National you have to prove that the teachers who tought the class are quilified too by CCAF standards. They must have a masters or 16(I think 16) credit hours in the field of study for the course you took. I'm told now that all the teachers at the school are up to the standard but you still need to have their info sent in with the transcript... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Electronics Engineering Graduate

First, I had a great experience with Grantham University (GCE). They're great for the active duty military (like me!) and they accepted 90 credit hours from my previous schools which includes my RA credits, military certifications, and experience. Secondly, I chose GCE because of its flexibility while I'm performing my military duties. I work crazy hours and have a family to support so traditional college was not for me. In the past, I've attended college on campus and never got the top quality education I received while at GCE. I felt I wasn't learning as much as I could from the textbooks... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Don't be Fooled By These crooks!

I took 3 semester's worth of classes at Grantham Universtiy. I am a SSgt in the United States Air Force. This is a school that just has a lot of money, and can pay off sites like military.com to do their advertising. If you don't believe that they ARE NOT regionally accredited, just look at their website: http://www.grantham.edu/other/accreditation.php They talk about how important accreditation is. And they have a very professional looking website. Many people think that "nationally" accredited is what to look for, this is simply NOT true. They 'brag' about being accredited through DETC; which is a worthless Accrediting Commission... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Grantham Univeristy keeps improving!

So far, my experience at Grantham University has been what I've expected: demanding, fulfilling, can go at my own pace. Being in the military, online education was very appealing to me. My husband got his Masters thru Univ of Phx but they just didn't appeal to me. I needed a little longer of a class and i like receiving books for my classes. I have completed 8 classes so far in the past year, my CCAF credits, clep test credits and classes from two community colleges all transferred to Grantham. One of the things that can make or break you at any college is your student representative... Read Full Review

Grantham University - Poor customer service, credits won't transfer

Dissapointing to say the least. No other school will touch my Grantham credits. I attended Grantham for two semesters. Now I am transfering because I am tired of trying to contact the school and my instructors for help and not getting return phone calls or e-mails. Their customer service is severly lacking. Now, I am stuck with two semesters worth or worthless credits that no one will touch. Read Full Review
