I am pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and I am thrilled with the caliber of the education, course material, and instructors. This is no walk in the park, run-of-the-mill education. I have been challenged at every step of the way. The work load is sufficient. The classroom platform is very user-friendly, unlike what I have experienced at other online schools. I am in the EdD in Educational Leadership program, and I am enjoying it very much. It seems that when people complain about any school, the root is their own fault for not following policies. If you are a student, you should be responsible for your own success. The EdD program has been excellent. For-profit schools get beat up in the press, but I think that my education has been helpful. I participated in the Argosy/Sarasota Instructional Leadership program. I have been pleased with the responsiveness of the course instructors. In each class that I have taken, I have found colleagues who have challenged my thinking and have helped me to expand my understanding of the subject matter being discussed. Instructors have facilitated the online portions of the classes skillfully. Submitted papers and projects were graded promptly and returned with recommendations for improvement. The faculty and staff really go out of their way to insure that everything is being done correctly and will even call / e-mail for a quick chat asking about your day and if there is anything that they can do to make the overall experience better. The Teachers are very knowledgeable and the courses are challenging and stimulating. This is not a a degree mill by any means. Very rarely will you encounter a student that has no concept of basic grammar or written communication skills (Q.E.D. you will not see people responding with "text" such as U R pwned etc..) I received my MA in Educational Leadership here in 2009. The online program for me was a seamless transition. Everything seemed to be handled for me such as FA, class registration, and student records. The learning experience is really what you make of it, especially with online learning. To be honest, I just wanted to get the degree to put on my resume, as it enhanced my work experience. The online program was a vast, positive change from the Atlanta campus where I took a few classes and was treated very poorly and felt discriminated against by faculty and staff. Read Full Review

After earning my BA in psychology at Argosy Orange County, CA campus with no issues, I decided to enroll in the Masters of education degree to become a teacher. We all know what happened to districts not hiring teachers anymore because of state budget cuts, so basically my degree would be worthless now if I did finish it. But beyond that, dealing with Student Services and financial aid here is a NIGHTMARE. I completed my MBA from Argosy University in the Orange County campus in 2009. I have a BA from a top University of California college, and I would say that I enjoyed my experience at Argosy. I met some great people, and professors. One of the professors I met I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. The course work was challenging, especially the online work. I like how we learned and use real world examples to learn the material.

Every school has its weaknesses, Argosy isn't perfect but I would give the school a 4 out of 5 rating. Read Full Review

I graduated from Argosy OC with Ed.D. Professors in Education Department are excellent. Most adjuncts are former superintendents or have years of experience as leaders or directors in public K-12 education. Excellent interaction with other graduate students in courses. I attended on-campus classes in the evenings during the week and on Saturdays in Orange County. I would recommend attending on-campus courses and only a few blended courses to obtain the best learning, skill development, and experiences, especially in research methods and statistics... I am having the worst time with this school. I had to withdraw this past fall due to a death in the family. I sent an email to my advisor (third one in less than a year) on the last day to withdraw with a W. She said no problem, etc...The problem came later in December when I get a call from their collections department saying I owed over $3000 because I withdrew from school and they returned my financial aid. I was told that I had only completed 58% of the time. You have to complete over 60% to not have TitleIV aid returned. After figuring my time, I came up with 63% completion... Read Full Review

I received my DBA-Accounting from Argosy Univesity-Sarasota in 2004. I started the program in 2000 in Sarasota when it was University of Sarasota (Former name). The online format was not in existence then. Therefore I commuted to Sarasota, FL for about 3 or four times a year to attend classes. This is a great school; the whole educational experience was rewarding! Believe me, I have achieved my educational goals and on the way to achieving my professional goals as well. I am a graduate of Argosy University. I have an earned doctorate. Argosy University does not care about its students. It is, of course, a for-profit school in the same vein as the University of Phoenix, Capella University, Kaplan University and all those other schools in the for-profit education market. Believe me when I say that all they care about is getting your money, especially if you are on federal aid. Argosy does not employ many of its student graduates, because they consider their curriculum sub-standard. Once you have graduated, they couldn't care less about you... Read Full Review

I completed my course six months ago, and still have not received my Degree via mail. I had three different advisors while attending the school, all of whom were witches. I don't know how my last advisor keeps her job - as she is unprofessional in every sense of the word. She is rude and is an adversary and certainly not an advocate. She has been a nightmare! I would say 99% of the Professors provided excellent teaching; and the course work is not easy, but rather difficult. My advisor would not recognize my GPA of 4... Read Full Review

The worst! It took me 1 year to get them to give me a credit for a class that was not showing my transcript. They had the class info but never added it thus leaving me with less credits showing I did not graduate. Took 20 calls and 5 letters to fix it and over 1 yr of stress. I heard things like "oh I forgot....I've been out of town...remind me again...can you re fax that info...etc" For the amount one pays they should at the very least take care of you. The program I did was out of Sarasota and combined on-line and on-campus classes and has been excellent. The on-line classes gave me the flexibility to go to school by working and the on-campus parts allowed me to form relationships with my teachers and learn from the other adult students. Please read this before making any decisions. Yes, I have a Master's degree, but not from this school. This school nearly took away my education due to the lies and stories they feed you to get you hooked. Take the time to know that if a school is worthwhile then you must take a GRE to get in, unless of course, you have already graduated from that school and do not need to due to obtaining your first degree from there. The staff turnover is unbelievable. Turnover every few weeks, this is NOT A REAL SCHOOL! for example, Tampa, Florida. this is a two story building with approx. four rooms on a second floor that they label a campus... Read Full Review

First, let me say that I rated materials, teachers, and technology all a 5 because I really have no idea what they were like. Read below for a story about how completely un-awesome Argosy is at customer service, treating their students well, and being a well-run business in general. After all, they are a business, and you're joking yourself if you think that they aren't in the education game to make money. What a rip off. I sign up for information, and immediately start getting calls and mail pressuring me into registering. I received a great education at Argosy/Sarasota. I did not take online courses. I graduated in 2003 and utilized on-campus courses and distance tutorials (i.e., 1 on 1 with a professor). The program was exceptional. My professors were experienced, quality teachers. The coursework was substantial and I would stack my research/dissertation against anyone's. I am indebted to the faculty and Argosy University. In the end, I think any program experience is highly dependent upon the work ethic of the student. The quality of instructors is less than impressive. One actually pointed to wikipedia as a source of reference...the assignments did not have the data or information to answer the questions...it was a waste of time. Don't make the same mistake I did. I would rather actually learn something than just be in an MBA program to get my degree. There is something to be said for taking the GMAT and going to an AACSB accredited school. Read Full Review

This is a very good university. Its online program is both comprehensive and challenging. It fits my lifestyle by offering flexible schedules and accessible instructional techniques for the distance learner. The coursework is intellectually stimulating and the instructors are very knowledgeable. They really reach out to the students and communicate well both online and off line.
