View All Reviews Write a ReviewMy experience so far has been stellar. The key to an online education is keeping your own records. There are always going to be little problems that surface but Full Sail offers the most friendly and knowledgeable staff that quickly corrects any mistakes in the process. A lot of people complain about the cost of tuition, without realizing that Full Sail provides ALL books and materials in the cost. This means no waiting in lines or dealing with out of stock materials you might need. It all gets shipped to your home several days to a week before the course you need it... Read Full Review
I am actually graduating Bachelor Degree in Human Services, which I believe, is no longer offered at BU. Bellevue University is a fantastic college for working adults whom are focused. The accelerated classes are fast and as soon as one semester ends, another begins. The down side is the high cost but that is the price you pay completing your degree sooner. I felt challenged in my classes and worked hard for the grades I received. I have read many of the other reviews on the internet and I just hope that when I do graduate next semester it does not take 3 months for the degree to arrive... Read Full Review
So, as a student at Walden University, I loved the flexibility that the programs provide as well as the level of education in which I received from the University. All of my instructors were very helpful and courteous, and most importantly, human. They, just as I, endured problems and understood that at times, I had issues as well!! They were always willing to work with me and there was never a time where I went with my questions unanswered. As an employee of the school, in advising, I must say that I, and everyone of my colleagues, enjoy what we do, which is helping other people see their potential, through education... Read Full Review
I completed the accelerated online MBA in 18 months and found it to be outstanding education in every respect. At graduation I had a chance to visit the small but beautiful Marylhurst campus in Oregon. Read Full Review
When I first did my FAFSA I was told I would not have to pay anything for my first year. Well at the end of the year they told me I owed $190.00 while that might not seem like a lot to most it is to me. It has been a fighting battle with the financial aid department. I just finished my first year and all year long they have been messing up my financial aid. The review department keeps sending me e-mail's and even blocking me from class because they say the need my tax return. I filled a joint tax return with my husband... Read Full Review
Union is a great place to learn anything! I am a resident of New York State and have taken classes through the State University of NY system for over 20 years. I learned more at Union than in all those years in the SUNY system. The Union programs are largely self directed so you need the ability to be motivated, determined and focused on your education. The professor/mentors are great. They are interested in seeing you grow as a person as you work through your courses. They were always quick to get back to me with any questions I may have had. If they did not have the answer they would find it... Read Full Review
I came to Union with many transfer credits (which were all accepted!) and needed mostly concentration courses. These courses were not taught by Union instructors but by adjunct faculty who are part of a lactation organization. They were for the most part outstanding! A couple of the Union instructors were pretty good and maintained great contact with students. One instructor (Ethics, Culture & Thought, Capstone Learning Project - all taught by the same instructor) was difficult. I struggled with him since he wasn't consistent about returning emails and calls. He wasn't clear about his expectations and inconsistent with his... Read Full Review
After earning my BA in psychology at Argosy Orange County, CA campus with no issues, I decided to enroll in the Masters of education degree to become a teacher. We all know what happened to districts not hiring teachers anymore because of state budget cuts, so basically my degree would be worthless now if I did finish it. But beyond that, dealing with Student Services and financial aid here is a NIGHTMARE. First, the reps in the Orange County are merely puppets - all of the decisions and processing comes from central processing in Chicago... Read Full Review
I originally started with CSU Ft. Collins a long time ago. CSU Global took my credits from that and transferred them in and so I only had about 10 classes to take. I am a working Mom and had to get this degree to stay competitive in today's business world. I highly recommend this program/school. Read Full Review
I want to start by stating to the reader(s) - don't pay attention to the complaints. I've been to the fixed facility law school and Concord is a far superior product. The complaints you see here are obviously those who experienced he spoon feeding frenzy of our broken education system. This education is nothing like your undergraduate or graduate education. I can assure you the experience of law study whether at a fixed facility school or online is much more demanding then undergraduate or graduate. You will study - a lot but Hello - it is a law school. The course lectures are excellent, professors very responsive... Read Full Review
I will be finished with my Masters in Education (Elementary Reading and Literacy) in December 2010. The program is very flexible and allows us to make our own schedules. There are a lot of papers to write; most are between 2-3 pages. I write about a paper a week, which gets quite redundant. The material is somewhat interesting and the instructors are very helpful if you ever need assistance. There are never any tests or exams, which is a plus for me. The convenience of an online program is wonderful. You can take vacations whenever and complete the assignments ahead of time or bring your laptop... Read Full Review
Keller education is fine, no complaints. They're cram courses, so it's rigorous in that respect. The local finance office are full of inexperienced staffing (which is ok, they're young), but I already have bookkeeping experience, I personally had no problem because I knew exactly what the billing dept in Illinois needed to know in order to resolve issues within 2 weeks time, and I know I'm not the only accounting nerd who can micro-manage on the fly & balance down to a penny... I just finished my PhD in Education on May 31, 2010. It is a lot of work but I am excited to have finished. I worked hard at completing the work and feel that I did received a great education. The amount of writing is high and they do love APA. I would advise an editor or someone who knows it very well. It did take an extra year to complete my dissertation once I got the research completed but that was because I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery and then a left behind stone removed the next term so that wasn't their fault. So I did finish 2 semesters later than I planned... Read Full Review

Highly recommended, the curriculum is current and meets the needs of the industry and myself. Support departments are absolutely friendly and supportive. The concept of WGU is excellent for those wanting to get back to school and prove their expertise and experience while balancing schedules of work and family. Mentoring needs work though, in terms of communication. My mentor gave too much personal attitude and not enough understanding. Mentors must be hired with years of experience working with adults---not just those who have worked with young children. Overall---I think it's set up effectively and the assistance given by individual departments like student services is solid. Wish I could get a second M.A. there. Read Full Review

I am working on my second year of schooling through WGU and I am enjoying every course. The course work is challenging and I am learning a lot, but I have the benefit of working on my own schedule. A biweekly call for goal setting and questions helps me to stay on track. The cost of attending (especially with the help of student aid) is a huge benefit as well. Overall, attending WGU has been a great decision! Read Full Review
I have been attending Kaplan University Distance Learning for about one year. After I sent an info request to a Veteran's specialist (I was in the U.S. Navy for 5 years prior) I got a phone call right away and this person went out of their way to explain the entire program to me. So with a 34% discount and free books, which made it the same cost as the local community college, I signed up. The registration went great, and if either my financial or main advisor are busy, there is always someone else to answer my questions via the phone (or they respond by e-mail.) The learning experience has been great... Read Full Review
I currently work in Law Enforcement and just graduated from Bellevue in March 2010. Attending Bellevue University was the best decision and investment I have made in my life. As for the comments that Bellevue is a diploma mill I can tell you that it is not. Bellevue is accredited by the same accrediting body "The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS)" that accredits schools like the University of Notre Dame. The coursework was not easy and I can attest to the fact that you do not just receive an"A"... Read Full Review

I attended Ashford University (online) for 2 1/2 years. Overall, my experience was good. I recently graduated from the School of Business and Professional Studies, with a B.A. in Organizational Management. AU's strong point is professors with real-world experience. I've heard some complaint about AU online. I was unhappy with the way they handle my financial aid, but everything else was wonderful. Highly recommended! Read Full Review
I am very unhappy with the current professor I have for the program, but I feel I have no recourse because it will affect my grade. My professor has not returned emails, told me I needed to call the university materials dept. because her reading assignments don't match the edition of the book we have, she in week 4 is suddenly requiring us to use APA in a discussion assignment , but it is not listed in the rubrics for the class and has not been required in the prior weeks. She personally criticized me in a response to my discussion,...the list goes on. Very unhappy!!! Read Full Review
I really enjoyed my time online with Chamberlain. I was able to graduate in less than a year. The academic advisors and financial aid counselors were very responsive throughout my time here. The professors were fabulous. It is very writing intensive, however I truly enjoyed the online format and discussion forums in each class. While it is difficult, I did score straight A's...I'm not sure if I just performed really well or if everyone received good scores. It is accredited which is great as well. Read Full Review
I moved through an education degree in less than three years. I loved doing one class at a time and moving at my own pace. This is a perfect school for an independent learner who likes the freedom of doing education when it is convenient to them. My mentor was not always on top of his game but I was always able to advocate for my needs through Student Services and get what I needed. The student teaching experience was a little hard to get set up but I was willing to put forth the effort. Sometimes it was hard to get a test set up at a test site but once again, determination is the only guarantee solution for reaching your goals... Read Full Review
In completed my doctorate at Walden in March, 2010. Unlike most students, I decided to pursue it full-time. I have no idea how anyone could complete this doctorate part-time in any reasonable period of time. It took me just under three years to complete and I understand the average is 5.9 years. I also estimate that well under 20% of those who start their doctoral degree at Walden actually complete it. In my cohort, there is only four of us left from roughly 20. The greatest complaint I have is the acceptance process. The reality is that the 80% of the students that drop out should have never been accepted in the first place... Read Full Review

I am currently in my 3rd year at Ashford and am earning a B.A. in psychology. I completed my first year at Central Florida Community College. Between the two schools, the academic standards and curriculum levels have been equivalent. Ashford's course load is heavier since the module-like format requires more writing and research. That’s one of the trade offs when you do not commute. Alleging that Ashford’s accredited classes are below college level standards is an underhanded accusation. Since each class is rigidly structured, this college’s learning style proves to be too monotonous for some... Read Full Review
I love this school! At first I was very nervous to go to school online, worried about being accredited, credit transfers, cost etc..... I hit a home run with WGU. A LOT of my credits did transfer from my previous degree. The cost is untouchable! My mentor has her Master's in nursing. You must speak with your mentor at the least biweekly, which I love. They have many conferences online to help with your learning. They really have their "stuff" together in every aspect... Read Full Review
I'm starting my 5th class. I'm very frustrated overall. I've never been to college and at 38 decided to go. My first class was great, loved the material, the teacher was excellent, I was excited about getting an education. But the last 3 classes have been nothing but frustration. One of the selling points is that their teachers are working professionals. My real world translation would be that they are people who work all day and are too tired or uninterested to teach effectively. I went to campus classes because it was cheaper and supposedly it would take less time during the week... Read Full Review
At WGU I felt at home the first day. My mentor is awesome. The course work is difficult, but, very challenging. At my previous online school all the exams were open book, this never pushed me to really study hard, but at WGU the exam are proctored, so you have to study hard to pass. At WGU you have to actually put in many hours of studying and work hard for each class. They really push you to work hard and not, like other schools, just push you through. I will be going into my second semester at WGU in July. I have no doubt that when I graduate I will feel confident that I have learned all I can to become a great teacher!!! Read Full Review
I started at CLS in 2009. I have to say from reading many of the reviews, that CLS is what you make of it. 1. It is hard. There is alot of reading and studying so prepare to spend 25 hours + a week. Don't have the time? Don't do it. We have lost about 50% of our class to dropping out. 2. My professor is great, gets your mind working and answers anything you have to throw at him. He is a very knowledgeable attorney and easy to reach and work with. Yes there is only one live class a week and the rest are recorded lectures. 3... Read Full Review
I am finishing my first year at Walden. Hope to get a PhD in Epidemiology in 3 - 4 years from now. So far, it's been OK. Some instructors are really responsive and provide valuable feedback, while others simply don't do that much. It's a mixed bag! But yes, it is hard, and you have to invest a lot of time and money into it. I have heard about people having difficult time finding their thesis chair; this seems to be a persistent problem at Walden. Too many students, not enough profs to mentor masters' and doctoral students in their research... Read Full Review
I just completed BA-520 Quantitative Analysis. For those critics who believe GU is a scam, I recommend enrolling in BA-520. I consider myself more than proficient with MS Excel, that is until I took BA-520. The course material was very challenging. BA-520 is a graduate level statistics course so by design, the course material should be challenging. The text book is found on Amazon.com for about $130. Having completed the course, I believe the knowledge gained will serve me well in my current profession. Again, I submit to those critics that if they REALLY want a challenging course at GU, enroll in BA-520! Read Full Review
I just completed my PhD program at Walden University. I am very satisfied. However, be aware that this is not a school for people who want an easy ride. You have to work for your degree, which is just fine as far as I am concerned. PhDs or any other college degree are not for everyone. If you can just buy one or get it without serious work, it is worthless. Walden has high academic standards that maintain the value of the degree. My classes required 15-20 hours a week and my dissertation is a 170 page document that required original research. All Walden dissertations are required to have social change implications... I spent most of my college life at brick and mortar schools and accumulated a ton of credits. This format allows a working professional the opportunity to return to school and finish what they started. I am grateful for the opportunity. As far as the school goes I have nothing but good to say about them. Think it's easy, believe me it's not and you will fail just the same as in the brick and mortar schools if you can't pick it up. Honestly, it was an amazing experience from start to finish experience! I could not believe how organized, professional, supportive and at times over nurturing the staff was. I believe the CEO of WGU was just awarded CEO of the year! I am really happy with the degree, its accreditation, and the positions I am now qualified for are hands down not attainable without my degree. I am looking forward to a pay increase, working a little less and spending more time with family... Read Full Review
I have nothing but good things to say about Grantham. They have fulfilled all of my needs. I am a MSgt In the US Air Force and am going to be retiring soon. I have told many of my co-workers about Grantham and they have also enrolled. I was able to complete my degree in Criminal Justice and before I retire I'm going to complete my Masters Degree in Information Management Technology. I have seen bad things about Grantham in some forums. But the bottom line is from what I have heard and will soon experience...it really dosent matter where your degrees are from as long as you got them... Read Full Review

My experience at Devry University was so I thought a good one, until I tried to register for the summer session of 2009 and found out I had a balance of $4,900 that I was unaware of. First of all no one contacted me about the balance until it was out of control. When I went to the financial aid office I was told that I shouldn't have been able to register for the spring term...., which I did and already took the classes! So when the summer term came I was like why is this balance so huge, financial aid told me that I was taking more classes than what my tuition could cover, which I didn't know I was doing that... I completed my MBA from Argosy University in the Orange County campus in 2009. I have a BA from a top University of California college, and I would say that I enjoyed my experience at Argosy. I met some great people, and professors. One of the professors I met I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. The course work was challenging, especially the online work. I like how we learned and use real world examples to learn the material.
Every school has its weaknesses, Argosy isn't perfect but I would give the school a 4 out of 5 rating. Read Full Review
I applied myself to the program and took out everything I could from it. It was well worth the time and effort. It blended both the creative side and the coding side of web. I didn't find any other school that does that. If you are thinking web, I highly recommend you look at Full Sail. Read Full Review
Ottawa University is the closest that I could find to a traditional State University. The advisors and counselors are not trained to be salespeople but are there just to help the student get throught the admission process. Out of three classes I have taken, at least two have been exceptional. I was surprised to learn the kind of faculty I have had given that nowadays higher education schools are just compete to get your money. For the MAPC program, classes are in person with the exception of one or two. However, I know the school offers online courses for the entire MBA program and undergraduate students... Getting a BSN is just a formality in Nursing. I didn't get any extra money after graduating. I did get a good looking resume. The nurse managers were impressed by my BSN. They thought it was great. So great, I got signed up for some really cool committee work.
I learned more a Chamberlain than my local colleges offered that's for sure. I definitely feel more prepared than my peers. Just the critical thinking alone was enough to propel me. I'm doing great now. I know I still have to advance into a master's program if I want to play hard-ball within administration. I am looking into Chamberlain again... Read Full Review
I spent almost a year looking at schools before I decided to enroll at Walden. When I did decide to enroll my enrollment advisor was very helpful. As a matter of fact everyone I've had to deal with has been very professional and very helpful. When I was ready to look for my dissertation committee my academic advisor was wonderful.
