I transferred from Washington State University. I chose to do this because I want to be a teacher. I was excited to find an online school that offered a certificate in science. I wanted to take science classes, but I never lived close enough to the right schools. I have enjoyed it. WGU is like my other distance degree program. You get out of it what you put into it. It is competency based which is nice. I am able to apply y prior knowledge towards credit. It took me a month to get started and I was ready. My mentor has been helpful and great. My only complaint is the financial aid information. They do not have a written financial aid policy and there needs to be some kind of streamlining of the process. I felt like I was in the dark for most of the first month. I do not like this. I would call the financial aid office and they would just put me off for another week. There needs to be a written policy for when and how the financial aid will be awarded and disbursed.
