Go"After researching online programs for over a year..."
I have been a nurse for 38 years and, for the last 1-2 years, have been toying with the idea of completing my degree, BSN. I prefer to do ANYTHING online. I feel less pressured and have time to think about what I need to ask and, later think about my response. So, on all the applications I filled out and answered their question about my preference of communication, phone or email, ALL but WGU called. That in itself made me think they did not respect my preferences, as well as the idea that they know there is more pressure on the potential student to make a decision while on the phone and avoid another call. Secondly, it has been a very long time sine i have been in school and, well, moderately, technically impaired. WGU mentors and counselors are VERY patient, knowledgeable, as well as helpful. if one feels the calls are unnecessary, then don't have them. They are very accommodating and want to see you succeed. If you want someone to hold your hand, if you are not self motivated, if you need someone to tell you what to do and where to do it, if you need your ego stroked, then WGU is certainly NOT for you. Do us all a favor and don't go, then complain when they don't do all the above for you.
