Go"You get out what you put in."
I am currently working on my PhD in Public Policy and Administration and I have to say it is the hardest I have ever worked for school. It makes my Master's degree (at a traditional highly ranked school) seem like a walk in the park. My writing has improved in three quarters and I am doing research that directly relates to my job. If you are at the PhD level, there is no reason to be at a traditional school unless you are in a science field. If you can't handle pacing yourself, you shouldn't be in the program to begin with. People who complain about it aren't willing to do the work. And by the way, it isn't a diploma or money mill. Again, people say mean things when they can't take the heat (or the work in this case).
