Considering my situation there was absolutely no way I could have gone to get my PhD without using an online school. I shared my curriculum with the PhDs I worked with and they were impressed with the coursework. Being former military, I was familiar with online schools and basically online school is what you make of it. You have to be diligent and proactive in order to get things accomplished. I am currently being considered for a fellowship at Georgetown University so it is completely false that academia does not recognize Walden University as a legitimate university. Degrees are overly priced no matter where you go. It's all a racket but it's up to the individual to take the experience and be something great. I was challenged at Walden and I am extremely proud of my PhD and the research I accomplished to attain my goal.
