Go"Don't trust the bad reviews"
I wanted to post about Walden after reading some of the very low-scoring reviews. Though I can only speak for the College of Education, I cannot understand how some people can make such bad claims. My time taking classes at Walden has been wonderful. The online format, as well as the smooth curriculum process, was extremely beneficial. For example, upon completion of one semester, I was automatically registered for the next semester and course materials/books/DVDs (which are included in tuition) were sent to me shipping-free. I found the courses beneficial and well-developed. Some of the beginning ones, I admit, were at times a re-learning of what I had learned in college. But, since many of my masters colleagues were in their 40s, I think this was a good review for all. I feel that I had to work hard to earn my grades in all my assignments. I also enjoyed the discussion format of the classes so that my fellow colleagues and I could discuss issues and ideas from our own experiences from all around the US. Everyone had great attitudes and was dedicated to teaching, as it should be. As for the staff, I never had any problems with them. The online format does make it a bit more difficult to form a relationship, but every time I went to one with a question or concern I received a prompt, helpful response. So, in all, I enjoyed my time at Walden. I would definitely recommend it to others. I myself had been recommended by a math deparment chair at a school I was working at. I am certain that she enjoyed her program and was most definitely not looking for an easy degree (she already had a few!) I'd consider Walden again if I needed further classes or degrees!
