RIGOROUS CURRICULA; CLASSES ARE TOO SHORT University of Phoenix

  • Comments and Experiences

I recently finished my degree and I can honestly say that I worked hard for it. I'm now enrolled for my Master's at Florida Institute of Technology. I took my first year of classes with UoP on campus and the final 2 1/2 online. Most of my teachers were tough, and they made us work hard for a good grade. Their feedback on papers were harsh in some cases, but very constructive. At least they gave feedback. One thing I could say on the negative side is that classes were only five weeks long each. I don't think five weeks is enough to learn the material I had to take, or any college courses for that matter. Second thing I didn't like is the fact that I didn't have to take any exams like traditional schools do. I believe exams are important especially with taking college classes. Third thing I didn't care for was working with teams. Many times I had to be the team leader because no one in the teams I was in had much initiative. I had to finish one team paper all on my own due to lack of participation from others. Overall, this school is pretty good. You have to have self discipline to attend their online courses, otherwise, YOU WILL FAIL. Paper requirements were also pretty tough, and APA is strictly adhered to.
