Go"The best decision I ever made"
Although I was initially scared to enter an online program after being out of school for several years, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease in transition that I experienced during my first semester. The RN to BSN program was exceptional. I have to admit, I had my doubts about the quality of curriculum content at first but once I began the program, those doubts went out the door! The faculty staff was always helpful and supportive. I won't lie; the program is difficult and there must be discipline involved in the completion of assignments because it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. However, the dedication pays off and I have absolutely no regrets. In fact, I liked it so much that went back to obtain my MSN and am nearly finished! I also have some exposure to the ADN program in South FL. The hospital I work with is contracted with them to provide clinical training and the students will rotate through the operating room from time to time. This was surprising to me at first because I never saw another school take interest in the surgical component of patient care. The students that I talk to all have had positive feedback regarding their program. The only negative component that I see is finance and costs. The programs are pretty expensive when compared to community colleges or state colleges. I think part of that cost can be attributed to the great convenience that online programs offer. Nevertheless, if cost is a limiting factor for you, then I would not recommend Chamberlain. If you are a United States veteran (like myself), then I encourage you to try Chamberlain. They offer veteran rates and are covered by the GIBill and post 911 GI Bill. Susan.
