Master of Science in Family Therapy




This online Master of Science in Family Therapy degree program from UMassOnline was designed to prepare students with the skills and understanding needed to aid individuals in creating strong and healthy families.

This program is to aid students in helping families to discover that they are entities that are found within a much larger social system, which helps them to implement collaboration, inclusiveness, and integration of system approaches into their family functions.

The overarching goal of this online family therapy program is in direct line with UMassOnline's goals of commitment to serve urban communities.

The online MA in Family Therapy prepares it students for meeting the necessary academic requirements for family therapy (LMFT) licensure from the Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as in other states.

Applicants to this program must have a Bachelor's degree that was received from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and must have complete at least 5 Psychology courses, 2 years of Human Services experience, and a MAT or GRE Score.
