Description
Graceland University's Master of Education in Mild/Moderate Special Education online degree was designed to strengthen the teaching skills of K-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education teachers, or for teachers who have mild/ moderate students within their non-special education classroom.This is a curricular and instructional methodologies based online degree, which uses a diagnostic testing course to administer and use results for individual and classroom instruction. K-6 or 7-12 emphases are both available. Based on the five core propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) this program has developed its program topics, learning experiences and outcomes, and this program is aligned with the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC) content standards.
This online program can be typically completed in two years. This degree does lead to Iowa or Missouri licensure. Other states may also accept this for licensure. Each student should check with their own state to determine requirements and acceptance.
All applicant must have a bachelor's degree in education from an accredited institution or a teaching endorsement; Must have a teaching certificate in the U.S. and be currently employed as a teacher. Teacher must have access to a classroom that serves mild/moderate special needs children.
