Gratz College's online Master of Arts in Jewish Education was designed to instill in its students the knowledge that is needed for succeeding in a variety of careers in Jewish educational institutions, both formal and informal.
As a student in this online Jewish Education program, individuals will work with a number of experts as they concentrate their studies in teaching or administration.
This fully online degree in Jewish Education will be prepared for positions in day schools, in early childhood education, and/or serving special needs students are also available.
This program also includes a three-credit individualized internship conducted under close supervision also provides an important educational experience, and will study topics, such as:
- Hebrew Language: Students must demonstrate Hebrew language proficiency equivalent to that attained through the completion of Hebrew 10304.
- Jewish Studies: Jewish educators are required to have expertise in a variety of Judaic and professional arenas. The requirements of the various tracks (articulated below) address basic competencies that all students in those tracks need to achieve. Students who have limited knowledge in particular areas will be advised to supplement their programs with additional coursework to address these gaps.
Due to the broad skills required of graduates in the Jewish education program there are several graduation requirements that may be fulfilled through undergraduate study or taken concurrently while pursuing the graduate credential at Gratz College.
