Created to be a flexible option for earning a master's in teaching, the online Master in the Art of Teaching - Mathematics, 6-8 degree from Marygrove University concentrates on developing instructional leaders and the content knowledge middle school teachers need to know in order to be effective teachers of mathematics.

This MAT degree consists of 10 courses. Six core courses focus on content that all teachers need to know regardless of grade level and/or subject area and four specialty courses that focus on the content specific to each program. This degree requires completion of 30 graduate credits.

The degree incorporates the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics as outlined by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).

To enroll in the online master's degree program you must currently possess a teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree, be employed as a full-time teacher, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher from your undergraduate institution. Not available to residents of Georgia.
