Description
The University of Cumberlands' Director of Special Education program was created to aid students in gaining the skills and understanding needed to become a leader in the filed of Special Education.
This online certification in special education program requires its students to have graduated from an accredited institution. This program was designed to help its students earn the Rank 1 certification at the "sixth-year," specialist, or doctoral level, and includes course that cover a variety of topics, such as:
- Human resource management and supervision
- School business management
- School law
- Consultation & collaboration for curriculum design
- Advanced assessment strategies and prescriptive writing.
All applicants in this program must have graduated from an institution of higher learning with a minimum 2.5 GPA and have a master's degree in education. They must also have successfully completed the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program or have two years of successful teaching experience outside the state of Kentucky, and have three years of fulltime teaching experience.
