Bachelor of Science in Software Development
Program Quick Facts
Program Length
120 credit hoursDescription
With Bachelor of Science in Software Development students will be skilled in the three tiers of most multi-level IS environments: the database that supports the information, the application programs that process the information, and the Web pages that are used to collect the information and apply it back to the user. In this program students develop a solid understanding of each of these tiers and how they interact. In Champlain's Software Development program, individuals learn the languages they'll need- C++, Java, C#, HTML, Javascript and others - to develop entire systems. Students will also take courses in database development and management, Systems Analysis & Design, and Application Security.
Because software engineering and Web development are now critical components of Information Systems, a blended degree in Software Development from Champlain College will get you ready - on day one - to go into an organization and be productive.
All applicants for undergraduate degrees must have earned at least a high school diploma or GED. Most successful applicants have earned a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and have completed some military or college level coursework with a 2.5 GPA or better.
