
Description
The online Bachelor of Science in Game Art and Design degree program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh was created to aid individuals in developing the artistic skills needed for succeeding in the multi-billion dollar industry of game design.
This fully online degree in game design focuses on developing the artistic skills of game design rather than the programming skills. Individuals in the program will learn the core principles of art and design, and their relation to game play and background, the creation of characters, and usability.
Graduates of this program will have gained the necessary skills needed for obtaining an entry-level positions, such as:
- Game-play tester
- Character animator
- Level designer
- 3D object modeler
All applicants must have a high school diploma with a 2.5 GPA, GED Certificate with a score of 257 or higher, or a bachelor's degree. Students must also have strong drawing skills to succeed, and a portfolio of 3 digitized drawings must be submitted for evaluation during the application process.
