This online court reporting degree program will instill in its students the understanding that is needed for meeting the growing need for individuals who are knowledgeable, skilled professionals, who know how to:

  • Read and write stenography in real time on a computer-compatible stenography machine with proficiency and accuracy
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the courts and the civil and criminal systems of law
  • Prepare accurate transcripts for a variety of court proceedings that includes multiple speakers, witnesses and technical material utilizing a CAT system

Students will also learn to use technology appropriate to the court reporting profession.

All applicants must have a high school diploma and be currently certified as Registered Professional Reporters (RPR) by the National Court Reporters Association.
