
Description
University of Maryland - University College's Bachelor of Science in Fire Science is a degree that will aid students obtain advancement into a management position in fire protection.
UMUC's Fire Science Program offers students a variety opportunities to learn about, the organizational theories and skills required for fire service administration, procedures and practices to manage career and volunteer fire-protection organizations effectively, and to develop and administer a comprehensive hazardous materials management program, from planning to post incident phases.
Students will also engage in analyzing the legal implications and aspects of the fire department's role in public safety, describing the fire-related social, cultural, behavioral, economic, and political characteristics of diverse populations in the United States and abroad, and developing effective written communications consistent with the fire service and related professional environment.
UMUC's BS in Fire Science enables student with the knowledge needed to not only work, but advance within the fire protection field.
