Abilene Christian University's Master of Education in Special Education is a faith-based, online program that focuses on the design and delivery of teaching and other educational services to children or adults with special learning needs or disabilities. Also, this program will prepare students to function as a special education instructor.

The online Master of Education in Special Education includes instruction in diagnosing learning disabilities, developing individual educational plans, teaching and supervising special education students, special education counseling, and applicable laws and policies.

All of the online Special Education classes are designed around the Interstate School Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards, which make children and their learning the foundation for school administration. By incorporating these standards, the program prepares students to obtain licensure in the 36 states that have adopted the standards, including Texas.

Also, this program does require its applicants have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, and 2 years of K-12 teaching experience.
