Description
The Associate of Science in Web Site Development and Design can immerse students in computer and Web technology-from HTML to e-commerce. Students in this program will be able to keep their finger on the pulse of current technologies and obtain valuable technical, development, communication and critical thinking skills while they develop the business savvy necessary to succeed in this ever-changing, dynamic industry.
Through this program, individuals will gain an appreciation for effective Web architecture and Web servers, create compelling Web sites, ensure secure on-line transactions, and optimize server performance. Students will gain a full understanding of Java, CGI, Active-X, Flash, and other cutting edge technologies and examine how businesses can more effectively use the Web in current business practices. Additionally, studnents will learn how to use relational databases on the Web and how to design high impact Web sites and make them come alive with amazing graphics, motion, animation and sound. This degree is designed especially for adult learners seeking career advancement.
All applicants for undergraduate degrees must have earned at least a high school diploma or GED. Most successful applicants have earned a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and have completed some military or college level coursework with a 2.5 GPA or better.
