A health education certificate program is designed for health care workers, nurses, recent college grads, teachers, doctors, and anyone else interested in learning the fundamentals of health promotion, disease prevention and community outreach. It can provide a credential that can lead to employment within a nonprofit or government agency, public schools or health care institution—or a promotion within your current job.

A traditional or online health education certification program may or may not include the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) qualification. This certification requires 25 credits of coursework and passing of a national certification examination.
