If you want to be a teacher in public schools, you will need to earn your teaching certification. Every state has its own certification requirements, but most states require potential teachers to complete a Bachelor’s degree, finish a state-approved teacher training program, earn a certain number of credits in the subject of education as well as the subject you will teach, and some supervised practical experience.
There are many teacher certification programs available both online and through traditional schools. You can earn your teacher certification as part of a full-time Bachelor’s degree in education; full-time through graduate school; through a professionally-oriented night school; or through an online certification program. Some schools offer emergency credentials to those who have not yet earned certification.
