Behavioral Therapy

Course Code: DED9132
School: Stonebridge Associated Colleges UK

Course Materials Available: 365 Days Estimated Hours to Complete Course: 60

Description

Andrew Salter who founded modern behavioral therapy used conceptions of excitation and inhibition as the basis for treatment of the neurotic. When excitatory forces dominate, people are action-orientated and emotionally free.

They meet life on their own terms. The neurotic, on the other hand, always suffers from an excess of inhibition. Through this course the student will learn how Behavioral Therapy employs mental and physical exercise to build and strengthen the excitatory processes, creating a new balance where they can dominate the brain functioning and overcome problematic behavior.

This course covers:

  • Course introduction
  • Psychological development
  • Biological basis of behavior
  • Basic drives and motives
  • Conflict and stress
  • Abnormality and normality
  • Social behavior
  • Behavioral therapies
  • Normal not neurotic
  • Effectiveness of therapies

    Outcomes

On completion of your course, you will receive two qualifications:

    Behavioral Therapy Certificate

Behavioral Therapy Certificate issued by Stonebridge Associated Colleges, entitling you to use the letters SAC Cert after your name.

ASET Level 2 Behavioral Therapy Award

This Course leads to an ASET Level 2 Award Certificate for successful learners. That means that it is independantly accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (NFQ) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSE's are at levels 1 and 2 and A Levels are at level 3).

The Award has been designed by a learning provider to meet specific learners' or employers' requirements and as such is not listed as a qualification on NQF. While the duration, content or assessment may vary from similar national qualifications, in accrediting the programme at level 2, ASET attests that its learning outcomes are at an equivalent level to a level 2 national qualification.

    Assessment

After each lesson there will be a question paper, which needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking. This method of continual assessment ensures that your personal tutor can consistently monitor your progress and provide you with assistance throughout the duration of the course.
