Description

LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) provides a set of tools that web developers can use to design, develop, test and deliver web-based applications. This course will walk the new user through the process of installing and configuring the Linux operating system, the Apache web server, the MySQL database application and the PHP server scripting language. The course also covers how to maintain and trouble-shoot the system.

Students will need a computer on which they can install the LAMP applications.

Objectives

  • Students will install Linux on their computer.
  • Students will use the shell to navigate within Linux
  • Students perform system administrative tasks on their Linux system.
  • Students will configure network applications on their Linux system.
  • Students will configure security applications on their Linux system. Students will install and configure a mail server.
  • Students will install and configure the Apache Web Server on their Linux System.
  • Students will install and configure MySQL on their Linux system.
  • Students will install and configure PHP on their Linux system.
  • Students will test the configuration of their LAMP system.

Outcomes

Students will learn to use PHP to create data-driven web applications.
