Designed for everyone that deals with the healthcare industry, this course is targeted not only at Providers, Payers, Clearing Houses, but also at HR managers, Business Associates, and anyone else that wants to know about their Individual Rights under the HIPAA legislation.

Coursework focuses on education in the HIPAA law, and best practices for HIPAA legislation. Other topics include the documentation that is required for HIPAA compliance, and the technology changes that will have to be implemented.

Furthermore the new rights of the Individual under HIPAA legislation are covered, as well as the Criminal and Civil Penalties that can be imposed. The course will discover who has to follow HIPAA guidelines, when the compliance dates are.

Outcomes

After completing this course a student will have satisfied the Federal mandate that all employees of covered entities will be HIPAA trained. Additionally students will have a better understanding of the legislation that has permanently changed the Healthcare industry.

Finally we will be introduced to the two organizations that will be regulating this legislation.

Assessment

Students will be assessed using 5 Multiple Choice Tests, and the creation of the final documents required by HIPAA.

The instructor will be helping assist with the creation of the documents.
