Design Considerations Using Geotechnical Reports

Course Code: 383226EAU
School: Lorman

Course Materials Available: 365 Days Estimated Hours to Complete Course: 2

Description

Many architects, civil engineers, owners and developers have been put in the lead to request a geotechnical report for a project. These members of the design team are then asked to interpret the report and determine how the recommendations will affect their portions of the design.

This OnDemand Webinar will help the other members of the design team to be able to request an adequate scope of services for a project, as well as to be able to interpret the recommendations given by the geotechnical engineering in the report and determine how the information links with their work and design.

This program will specifically go over some important items to consider when requesting and reviewing a geotechnical report, such as anticipated foundation type, seismic design considerations, ground improvements, retaining walls and slope stability.

Outcomes

Upon completion of this courses, students will have developed an understanding of:

  • Requests for Proposal for Geotechnical Services
  • Design or Due Diligence

  • Time Frame
  • Type of Geotechnical Reports
  • Due Diligence
  • Design Reports
  • Site Preparation Including Site Improvements
