Description

This veterinary assistance program has been specifically created to enable individuals with the skills that are needed in caring for the health and welfare of dogs, cats, horses, and other creatures.

While in this veterinary assistant class, students will learn about:

• Animal physiology
• Animal pharmacology
• Animal behavioral issues

This program will guide individuals in developing the myriad of skills that are needed for working within any animal care facility, and will learn to conduct a number of duties, including:

• Administering first aid
• Recording vital signs
• Comforting surgical patients
• Coordinating boarding schedules
• Ordering supplies

With more than 50-million U.S. households having one or more companion animals, there is a growing needed for individuals who have been trained in advanced animal care.

Once you have completed this program you will have the skills that are needed to:

• Assist in emergency care and physical exams
• Perform lab tests
• Prevent and treat common diseases and disorders
• Administer medications
• Nurse orphaned and wild animals

Assessment

Students in this online Medical Transcription program will be assessed through the use of open book, online exams.
