This course is designed to provide you with an introduction into the complex, and in-depth subject of horse behavior. It will allow you to develop a recognition of how a horse behaves when confronted with various environments and situations. An understanding of equine behavior will enable you to establish better communication with the horse and allow 'equine friendly' training and husbandry methods to be devised.

The unit covers the natural instincts of the horse and investigates the use and value of equine social behavior.
Natural instincts are investigated and how behavior has altered through domestication.
It explores the stresses that a domesticated life puts on the horse, indicators of stress related behavior and examines how we can recognise and alleviate such stress.
It examines how these theories work in practice and how you can assist your horse when training.
