Description

This course has been designed for use in the complementary health therapies. The acquisition of knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is essential in these therapies. In this course the student will develop comprehension of the structure and function of the human body, of the inter-relation of the body systems within the human organism and develop an understanding of the principles of human anatomy and physiology.

This courses will cover topics such as:

• Definition of Anatomy and Physiology
• Reproductive system
• Characteristics and maintenance of life
• Organization of the human body
• Cells, tissues and cellular metabolism
• Skin and integumentary system
• Support and movement of the human body
• Understanding of the basic pathological disease process
• Integration and Co-ordination
• Processing and transporting systems

Outcomes

On completion of your course, you will receive two qualifications:

1: Anatomy & Physiology Diploma

Anatomy & Physiology Diploma issued by Stonebridge Associated Colleges, entitling you to use the letters SAC Dip after your name.

2: NCFE Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology Award

This Course leads to an NCFE Level 3 Award Certificate for successful learners. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSE's are at levels 1 and 2 and A Levels are at level 3). In accrediting the program at level 3, NCFE attests that its learning outcomes are at an equivalent level to a level 3 national qualification.

This award has been designed by Stonebridge Associated Colleges to meet specific learners' or employers' requirements. Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning program has been scrutinized and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.

Assessment

After each lesson there will be a question paper, which needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking.
