You could work as a drug counselor or for a crisis hotline answering calls. You could be staff in a residential treatment center for kids, adolescents, or young adults, at a state mental hospital you could be a psych tech working directly with patients. You may possibly qualify for a SSW license depending on the state you are in, which would open a bunch of other employment doors for you. It is hard to get a high paying job with only an associate’s degree since those jobs are competed over very heavily. Many assistant jobs and intern positions require at least a bachelors degree.
Getting more experience will definitely increase your chances since most employers require experience with education before they will hire you. Try volunteering somewhere a few days out of the week so you can gain that experience.
