The average teacher salary in Pennsylvania for the 2003-04 school year was $52,640, up 2.4 percent from
the previous year. This is good news for teachers and higher than most places in the country. Pennsylvania ranked 11th in the nation for average beginning teacher salary, at $34,140, an increase of 3.6 percent from 2002-03.
