Some of the most well known assessments for English language learners include:

  • W-APT
  • Access for Ells
  • Growth Excel Analysis Tool
  • ELDA
Assessments do work in helping teachers understand where their students currently are and where they need to go. Without assessments, it can be difficult for instructors to know exactly what needs to be taught and how to move a student forward.
