What is needed to be an online teacher?

I have a bachelor's degree in English and a masters in Creative Writing. I want to do distance teaching preferably at an accredited college

I would suggest you take an online class that teaches you how to facilitate an online class. Online teaching is different from face to face teaching. I am curently taking a class that teaches you how to be an online teacher where I am practicing and learning how to be an online instructor. I plan on teaching mathematics, real estate investing, and internet marketing online. Visit pbs.org for more information about the online course.

It is not required that you have any "special" education or credentials for teaching online; however, it will not hurt if you take a course in online teaching. This will help you in increasing your chances of finding an online teaching position.

yes an MFA is a terminal degree. I have very little experience teaching. I also have a handicap. For me distance teaching would be ideal Do I need extra training for that

If I am not mistaken an MFA is a terminal degree, so all you will have to start applying to schools you are interested in, and hope for the best. Good Luck!
