The options for employment with an interior design degree are endless. There is a need for designers for commercial, renovation, and residential design. Common places where interior designers work include: retail stores, hospitals, airports, restaurants, residential homes, theaters, and apartment complexes.
Those that hire designers can be the individual businesses or residents or they may be hired through design firms, manufacturers and architecture firms.
Just because you earn a degree in interior design, doesn’t mean you need to add your expertise only to businesses or residential homes. There are other options for those that don’t want to be in the direct design field. Common related careers include lighting design, product development, magazine design, or furniture design.
