I want briefly description about the psychological, ecomomic, behavioral and political aspects of khat.
Khat is a plant that is found on the Arabian Peninsula and in Africa. It is often used in tea or for chewing. Many countries have this plant marked as illegal or as a controlled substance. The side affects from using khat include stimulation and sometimes a reaching a state of euphoria.
In some countries, like Yemen, khat is a huge income source for farmers. It is estimated that each day, nearly 10 million people are using the plant. Although it is not a product that has huge economical impacts throughout the world, in the countries that harvest it the impacts are high.
