Well, yes and no. Most online colleges have tuition that's comparable to traditional colleges. Some traditional colleges offer online classes and in general, they don't charge less for these credits.

However, the cost of room and board can go down if you take online classes, plus the fact that you don't always spend as much money on incidental expenses like eating out, bars and general college entertainment. You'll also have an easier time working while you take online classes, which can really help financially.
