Is Almeda university a legitimate school? Or is it a diploma mill?

This online university claims to have accreditation but I am not sure if it is recognized here in the United States. Is Almeda a scam or does this school offer legitimate online degree programs?

It is an accredited university, which means it is recognized as school of higher learning, just like any other college. I hope this helps because I'm not sure what you're asking... But its diploma is a real diploma.I know few people that have been accredited by Almeda

When it comes to college accreditation there are a number of points that need to addressed. While there are a many accrediting agencies for distance education institutions, more importantly there are regional accrediting agencies that monitor the quality of education in the US. These are more important. To make sure you are attending a quality higher education institution, and not a diploma mill, you need to make sure that it is accredited by a US regional accrediting agencies. With all of this said, let me get back to Almeda. Almeda University is accredited by many distance education agencies, but as far as I could tell, it is not accredited by a regional US accrediting agencies.

With all this said, I would like to suggest to you that you read a couple of articles. You can find these articles through this link, Online College Accreditation Articles.

These articles will explain to you in detail what the US regional accrediting agencies do, and how to tell if a school is accredited.
