There are a number of variables that come into play when an individual is considering obtaining their teaching licensure. First, let me says that it does not matter what level or in what field that you have completed of education in, as long as you have completed your undergraduate degree.
So, unless you have a degree in a teaching related field, what you will need to do is find an organization that issues alternative teaching licensure. This is a license for individuals, such as yourself, who have discovered that they would like to teach the youth of America, but who earned a degree in some other area, such as underwater basket weaving. So, this information can usually be found via the Internet, or by contacting your State Teaching Department.
The alternative teaching licensure programs vary in length and price, but are typically evening classes that are coupled with a student-teaching type program.
