The process of finding an online teaching position is different than the process in a traditional setting. I would highly recommend contacting schools directly! I also have a blog that might help you learn more about online environment: www.effectiveonlineteaching.com

Since i receive very many questions like this from my subscribers I wrote an e-guide on how to find a job teaching online. You can check it out here: http://effectiveonlineteaching.org/teach-online/

Good luck to you!

Teaching online can be extremely different than teaching in a traditional classroom. You must be prepared for virtual instruction of students from around the nation and globe as opposed to having face-to-face interaction and live discussion with students.

In order to qualify for an online teaching position, you generally must meet the same requirements as traditional teachers. To teach at the high school level online, you must have a bachelor's degree and teaching license. To teach at the community college level online, you must have a master's degree. To teach at the university level online, a doctorate degree is generally required. Sometimes working professionals may be able to get a position teaching online in relation to their chosen field. At every level of online teaching, schools look for candidates who are familiar with the internet and content management systems.

If you are not yet qualified to teach online you can find many useful degree programs on our Teaching Certification Online Degrees page.
