When it comes to financial aid and online courses it can be a bit tricky. There are two parts to this process, the first is applying and qualifying for federal financial aid, and the second is searching for an online institution that will accept that aid.
Not every online institution that offers courses accepts or qualifies for receiving federal aid. So, I am going to suggest you first begin by applying for federal financial aid. You can do this for free and online. It is always good to start out with an idea of what you have in the way of aid, before you begin you search for an institution that will accept it. Federal aid applications are free, and do not require you to accept any funding you are offered.
To help you out with this, here is a link to an online financial aid article that will help you through this process of applying and qualifying for federal aid.
Once you have completed this online financial aid application, you should begin contacting all of the institutions who offer the courses you are considering taking, and discuss with them their policy on federal financial aid, and whether of not they accept it.
Like I mentioned before, not every institution can or will accept federal financial aid, so it is best to both discuss this with each school as well as the Department of Education, about the many option you have avaliable to you.
