Hi Artsy,

Yes, you can get federal student loans for your second bachelor degree. However you probably will not be able to get an federal student aid such as a pell grant for that second bachelor degree.

These days you have lots of options for in terms of financing for your education. The government offers quite a bit of options such as the (e.g., Stafford and Perkins loans) under which you have the Federal Direct Loans (most common for single students) and the Federal Family Education Loans, there are parent loans (e.g., PLUS loans) and finally private student loans including companies like Sallie Mae, and a litany of other private companies.

Now, you can get federal loans and private loans for your distance education just like you would if you went to school. There has been significant changes in the last few years to open up federal grants and loans to distance learners. I encourage you to check out these two articles on our site.

My kid is entering primary seven in august 2011. A letter was sent home with her today(2 days before end of term) stating that she will be moved to a primary 6/7 composite class. As a father of a ten year old entering her last year in primary, I feel this would be detrimental to her health / and her education. Is there any legal term to help me/her avoid this (can I arrange a meeting over the next 2 days with the school to discuss getting her placed back in her original primary seven class therefore continuing her studies with same classmates.
