How many child education courses are needed to earn a basic certificate to work in a day care?

Typically I don't like giving short answers, but for the most part, no. There are a number of really great school who offer free online courses (see our article 135 Completely Free Distance Education Courses), but there are none that I know of that offer free courses that will also offer you college credit.

Would someone studying Communications, Sociology and Film be qualified to work in International Development? Would it be better for me to go a more traditional route by getting an education in International Studies instead? I have more interest in spending my fours years learning about sociology, communications and film while volunteering with NGOs in Canada. However, would this put me at a significant disadvantage intellectually and experience wise?
